Hearth series is dedicated to Daniel Dion. 1958-2014. Daniel was my beloved husband and art partner from 1980-2014. We founded an arts centre together which I am grateful continues to flourish to this day thanks to many people’s incredible talents and efforts. See: OBORO

Daniel was a brilliant artist whose inspiration, joie de vivre, enthusiasm and brilliant art-works and ideas, inspired many. The Hearth artwork is a humble offering to Daniel to express my gratitude and love. The original photographs taken by myself are collaged around Daniel’s original fire photograph, that mysteriously produced a fire-heart in the image. Daniel loved to experiment in his art and unexpected discoveries would come in by his willingness to stretch his mind and open his heart. Hearth collage is dedicated with love and gratitude for Daniel’s presence and dedicated to Daniel’s love of photography and specifically to his love of night photography. He would quietly sit under the star filled indigo sky, patiently taking photographs of the fire hearth, a symbol of home.
