Find the Heart

‘Find the Heart” is a public artwork created from 2020-2022. At the onset of physical distancing measures, ‘Find The Heart” was created as a gesture of compassionate connection. Walking through the city, the artist inquired to city workers if they would like to share in our healing imagination, by planting a pink crystal heart into newly laid black top or cement.

Serving as a touchstone of benevolence towards all people of the world who were suffering due to Covid, “Find The Heart” invokes our sense of shared humanity. Inspiring the warm uplifting feeling that people experience when they see unexpected acts of human goodness, kindness, courage or compassion.

City workers were happy to participate, expressing delight and solemnity. Pink Hearts were planted throughout the city, offering well- being, with a prayer from the heart.
